The shepherds on the hill
Were guarding all their sheep.
The people in the town below
Were in their beds, asleep.
The shepherds on the hill
Felt sleepy in the night.
But soon the sky lit up
With an angel, oh so bright.
The shepherds on the hill
Were scared as scared can be
But the angel said "Fear not,
Come and listen to me!"
The shepherds on the hill
Heard what the angel said.
"A King is born in Bethlehem
With a manger for His bed!"
The shepherds on the hill
Saw more angels sing.
They worshipped baby Jesus,
Our Saviour and our King.
The shepherds on the hill
Went to Beth'lem town
To see this tiny King
Who didn't wear a crown.
They left their sheep behind;
Went down to find the child,
Who came to save us from our sin,
Who was so meek and mild.
The shepherds saw the baby
Lying in His crib
They knew He was the only one
Who could all their sins, forgive.
They went away rejoicing,
Their hearts were filled with joy
As they tenderly remembered
That tiny baby boy.
